This is my go to spot the food is very good and when I ask for delivery and they tell me 30min they actually stick to it. Delivery personnel are nice.
Basic Neighborhood Chinese Food restaurant. The Boneless Spareribs and General Tso's Chicken are the usual hits, usually good and fresh 3 out of 4 times. The Egg Rolls are AMAZING. And that Chili Oil is a must. The little boy who answers the phone is precise. The inside looks like every other takeout restaurant. No tables just a counter.
China Star is a college student staple in the Union area! The food options and deals are good, the staff is always kind and the delivery is always fast and consistent, often arriving way before the time frame they give you. My go-to is the Boneless Spare Ribs with white rice or the General Tso Chicken with Egg Fried/Pork Fried Rice and egg roll combination! The food portions are also a plus!
We moved to Washington, D.C. and have craved good Chinese food ever since. While visiting family in Union and needing to fill our craving, China Star was enthusiastically recommended. And, they did not disappoint. Family run - yes. Minor children (well behaved) present - yes. Patient while we reviewed the extensive menu - yes. Responsive to questions - yes. This is well prepared, clean tasting, non-greasy, and no "mystery" meat food. We ordered, the fried Pork Dumplings, Chicken with Black Bean Sauce, Beef Lo Mien, and Lemon Chicken. Large sharing portions and great tasting food. We were very happy - craving satisfied.
The food here is consistently good with nice sized portions, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. I would most definitely recommend when in the area.
